According to statistics from the Jinan Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection Station, during the first half of 2025, Jinan border inspection authorities inspected a total of 379,000 inbound and outbound passengers, marking a year-on-year increase of 4.17%. Among them, 311,000 were mainland residents and 68,000 were foreign nationals, representing year-on-year increases of 1.64% and 17.55%, respectively.

As a major highlight of China's optimized policies for foreign nationals entering the country, the implementation of the 144-hour transit visa-free policy and various unilateral and mutual visa exemption policies has stimulated the enthusiasm of foreign travelers to transit through China for business negotiations, cultural exchanges, and tourism. Among the foreign passengers passing through Jinan Port, visa-free foreign arrivals increased by a year-on-year surge of 408%. The primary source countries included Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and others.
